Managing Partner

Kristin joined Kern & Thompson, LLC in 2020 and  was named Managing Partner in 2023. Kristin leads audit and financial statement engagements—including audits, reviews, and compilations—with a focus on not-for-profit organizations and OMB Single Audits.

She brings over 20 years of experience in public accounting and consulting. Prior to joining the firm, she was a partner at a Portland CPA firm for 10 years and began her career at a large regional firm. She also spent eight years in forensic accounting, specializing in fraud investigations, technical accounting consulting, and litigation support.

Kristin holds CPA licenses in Oregon and Washington, a Bachelor’s degree in Accounting from the University of Portland, and an Advanced Single Audit Certificate from the AICPA.

Outside of work, she enjoys spending time with her family on a mission to find the best tacos in town.
